About Our Classes

Making Jewelry is a fun filled and beautiful process, best shared with friends. Prior to booking your upcoming class, here is some information you should know.

Location

Please ensure that you make note of the location of the class you are choosing. Classes can take place in our Bougie Rouge Boutique/Studio in downtown Edmonton, or at Whimsical Vintage Creations in Stony Plain. Our Boutique/Studio address is  11223 100ave, Emonton Alberta (Bougie Rouge Boutique Lower Level). Access to our class studio is via our side door accessible from 100ave, on the East side of our building.

Skill Level

All classes are scalable to each participant. The attendee can choose their projects from an assortment that range from beginner to advanced.

What can you make?

Polymer Clay can be used to make earrings, necklaces, brooches, pins, bookmarks, trinket trays, keychains, bracelets, rings, photo frames and so much more.

Each class is themed, and participants can choose their projects based on their skill level, and desired outcome for the course.

What is included in the class?

All you need to bring is yourself... and maybe a friend. We supply the tools, materials, and experience to aid you in creating some whimsical and fun accessories.

Each participant will have the option to make up to 10 accessories, dependant on the size and complexity they choose. There is 1 hour provided for designing and sculpting projects, 1 hour for baking, and 30 minutes for finishing and cleanup.

During our 1 hour bake time, attendees can shop our boutique, or chat while they sip and snack on the light refreshments we provide.

What types of products are used?

The products and tools used in classes are the same that I use when creating my own jewelry lines. Our metals are gold plated or platinum plated brass or stainless steel. Our clay is Sculpey Premo, Sculpey Souffle or liquid Sculpey.

Class Length

Our classes range from 2-2.5 hours. For polymer clay classes, there is 60 minute bake time that takes place during the class. We fill this time with supplementary projects and the ability for our guests to shop in our boutique. We recommend that guests do not leave the boutique during this time, as we can not provide additional time after the class to finish projects.

Second, some artists love to add additional details to their creations and take a little extra time. In these cases, we recommend that the artist books an additional time to complete their project. To do this, we request you book a open studio space.

Refreshments & Food

We stock a variety of non-alcoholic beverages for our artists. If you have any questions, a special event, or request, please email us or fill out our contact us form. In addition to refreshments, we often have little treats around the boutique. We keep eating to a minimum during classes as it posses a threat to contaminating our works of art. Food options are available for private parties. If you have a special need, please contact us to learn more about how we can assist you.

Age Requirement

Most classes utilize technique levels that are suitable for those 14+. For those under 14, we recommend purchasing one of our at home kits. Polymer clay does not harden until it is baked, allowing young artists to take their time and build new skills.

Parking

Parking is available behind our building. We ask that you enter our parking lot from 100ave, and exit using the back alley. In the event that the parking lot is full, there is street parking on 113th street.
